It's Caturday

Streetmog number: 278
Streetmog name: Oberon
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Driveway
Preferred stroke: Upper head scrunch
Character: Antz in pantsz
Other: Oberon was all over the shop, pacing the driveway like a mad thing. He wanted to be let inside but of course this wasn't happening so he soon got bored with me. His antics were entertaining, and I particularly loved his launch into the bush.

Streetmog number: 279
Streetmog name: Kovu
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Pavement
Preferred stroke: Chin tickle
Character: Playful
Other: Kovu was a beautiful teddy bear of a cat. His markings and fluffy tail were so endearing and his character complemented these perfectly. He was such a sociable mog, too. After we'd enjoyed some fussing (to the amusement of some passers-by), he became more interested in a leaf so I left him to it.

I taut i taw a puddy tat

Times is getting busy what with cyber Monday around the corner and times is getting cold what with winter tightening its grip, but the mogs continue to please and warm one's cockles, and here are four such examples:

Streetmog number: 274
Streetmog name: Danish
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Warm windowsill
Preferred stroke:
Character: Softie
Other: As it gets colder, I anticipate there being more indoor cats on show and today was no exception. Danish was initially wary of my appearance at the window, but he soon relaxed and even began to perform a series of affectionate head rubs against the window frame. Bless his stripey socks.

Streetmog number: 275
Streetmog name: Colonel Mustard
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Garden side path
Preferred stroke:
Character: Scaredy
Other: This elegant looking ginger was interested in my presence but not enough to warrant some hands-on-fur fussing, for when I attempted to get close he slipped off down the path and disappeared. This was a shame, as he seemed such a lovely fellow.

Streetmog number: 276
Streetmog name: Smeagol
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Windowsill
Preferred stroke:
Character: Sit-offish
Other: This creature was pretty indifferent to my presence and, it has to be said, fairly unimpressed with my cooing through the window pane. What an absolute darling, although with that look and those eyes I sensed she had evil within her and was hatching a wicked plan.

Streetmog number: 277
Streetmog name: Pushtine
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Garden
Preferred stroke:
Character: Nervy tyke
Other: Pushtine had the most adorable manner - just look at that cutest of faces and his perfect stance - but he was a nervous chap and it didn't take long before he slunk off into the sanctuary of his back garden, at which point I noticed that he had no tail. I'm sure there's a tale in there somewhere.

And finally, a while back an @streetmogs follower sent me some photos of a beautiful Bengal called Bagheera and today I met him in the fur. He was a sociable, playful delight.

Lofty arrogance in fur

One more moggle for the weekend...

Streetmog number: 273
Streetmog name: Farah
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Shed roof
Preferred stroke:
Character: Arrogant
Other: I deviated (only very slightly) from my route to say hello to this wind-swept rooftop critter. He was happily sitting in the winter sun with its accompanying chilly breeze but of course his fluffy coat was keeping him toasty. Despite my best efforts he was indifferent to my approach and, as the photos show, he even displayed a smidgen of arrogance with a refusal to look ahead and acknowledge my presence. How rude!

We move like cagey tigers

It's getting cold and the mogs are mostly staying indoors, so just one for now...

Streetmog number: 272
Streetmog name: Ziggy
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Pavement
Preferred stroke:
Character: Tease
Other: Ziggy walked towards me with an apparent wish for human contact and warm-me-up fussing, but as I knelt down to say hello he turned tail and sauntered off into another street. Suit yourself, Ziggy.

Proliferation of Puss in Park of Merton

It is with great pleasure that I am able to pen a pussy-loaded post today. I was recently back on one of my favourite stomps in the ruralesque area of Merton Park with its long tree-lined roads and lovely houses. It has never failed to disappoint with its provision of mogs and this time was no exception as I discovered five more fresh faced felines. The abundance of kitties was due to the wondrous, sunny autumnal weather which, as always, pleases the senses and soothes the soul.

Streetmog number: 267
Streetmog name: Ventana Blanca
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Window sill
Preferred stroke:
Character: Enigma
Other: It's not often I take a mog-in-window shot due to some e-whispers of discontent that I caught wind of a while back, but I couldn't resist this white wonder. He sat perfectly still, feigning disinterest as I took the photo but I knew that he was secretly intrigued to know my business.

Streetmog number: 268
Streetmog name: Fletch
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Under crappy Toyota
Preferred stroke:
Character: Wary
Other: Fletch was a real cutie but was also a nervy tick and slid under the hatchback before I could get my petting in and he wasn't about to come out. Shame.

Streetmog number: 269
Streetmog name: Barnaby
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Foot of tree (for stretch 'n' scratch)
Preferred stroke: Head tickle
Character: Contented
Other: This handsome tabby was quite happy to let me approach, despite the noise of the leaves being crunched underfoot. He was simply enjoying the day, which itself got better when he found himself on the end of some loving fussing. His purr was a joy to hear.

Streetmog number: 270
Streetmog name: Tuppence
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Driveways & pathways
Preferred stroke:
Character: Elusive tease
Other: Tuppence was a cheeky little rascal, accompanying me for about five houses worth of work before vanishing down a side path. He appeared at each doorway, fooling me into thinking that it was his home, before continuing along to the next residence.

Streetmog number: 271
Streetmog name: Tinkerbell
Actual name:
Favourite Location: Door step
Preferred stroke: Chin tickle
Character: Baby
Other: Oh Tinkerbell, bless you and your innocent fluff. When I met this exquisite kitty I was into a fifth hour of pavement plodding, having taken on more work for more moolah, so it was a lovely filip to meet her. I would have spent a bit more time in her presence but I was truly knackered and keen to wrap the day up.

And finally...

I also ran into a beautiful cat I'd seen from afar (and unimaginatively called Jason) a while back and had hoped to see again at closer quarters:
